The festival boasts its ability to feature the best local talent alongside internationally renown performers. \nAmong the most recognized is Cold War Kids\, a rock band who first teamed up while attending BIOLA University in La Mirada in 2004 and have since gone on to have their album “First” chart at number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart and land them a place in the line-up for Coachella 2016. \nHailing from Minneapolis is the rap group Atmosphere\, which has released eight studio albums and 10 extended plays over the past 27 years. \nThey are joined by fellow headliner Fashawn\, the Fresno-based hip-hop artist and one of the minds behind Grizzly Fest. He first received critical acclaim with his debut album Bot Meets World in 2009 and celebrated the release of his second studio album The Ecology under Mass Appeal Records in 2015. \nMeanwhile\, the Ocean Beach-based band Slightly Stoopid has proven that their name doesn’t describe their music and savvy sense of business. Their multi-instrumental tunes combine elements of reggae\, funk\, hip-hop\, and metal with strong influences of the popular reggae rock band Sublime. \nSlightly Stoopid were signed to Sublime frontman Brad Nowell’s Skunk Records in 1996\, the same year of Nowell’s highly publicized passing. They now release their music through their own label Stoopid Records. \nFor those hoping to see them all up close and personal\, this year the Grizzly Fest VIP package includes artist meet and greet access\, VIP Dugout full bar access\, Dugout bathroom access\, and side stage VIP access. \nHow to attend: Grizzly Fest is 3 p.m. Saturday\, May 7 at Chukchansi Park in Fresno.
